Africans win US humanities grants

The American Council for Learned Societies has awarded grants to 51 African scholars to complete PhD dissertations and undertake postdoctoral projects in the humanities.

The grants were awarded as part of the African Humanities Programme (AHP), an initiative funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York that is reserved for academics in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
