Japan funds climate projects

Japan plans to spend US$6 billion over the next three years on projects to tackle climate change and manage disasters in developing countries.

Half the funding will be used for renewable energy projects, Ken Okaniwa from Japan’s embassy in South Africa told delegates at a research forum on 29 August.
