The Benin-based Africa Rice Centre (AfricaRice) has named plant biologist Harold Roy-Macauley as its director general with effect from 9 March.
Tress Bucyanayandi, chairman of the Africa Rice Council of Ministers, announced Roy-Macauley’s appointment at an extraordinary session in Uganda this month.
Roy-Macauley is executive director of the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development, which coordinates agricultural R&D in 22 countries in West and Central Africa.
