Nigerian law expert to lead Africa’s development bank

A Nigerian international law expert living in South Africa has been named secretary-general of the African Development Bank.

Vincent Nmehielle, a former law professor at South Africa’s University of the Witwatersrand and a former practising barrister in Nigeria, will take up the position on 1 September.

Nmehielle completed his undergraduate degree at Rivers State University in Nigeria before furthering his studies in the US, focusing on international law.
