Makerere under the magnifying glass

A trio of researchers grilling researchers at one of East Africa’s foremost universities found academics confident in their abilities, but unhappy with their work environment.

The authors from Makerere University and the University of KwaZulu-Natal published their findings in a paper in the World Journal of Education on 2 December.

The study of 123 randomly chosen researchers at Uganda’s Makerere University found two-thirds complaining of a difficulty to access funding for their research.
