IBM opens innovation centre in Kenya

Computer giant IBM opened its first East African innovation centre in Nairobi, Kenya on 8 May.

The centre’s aim is to nurture regional ICT innovation, and help start-up companies to the market. It will give its users, including academics, access to cutting-edge software, hardware, training, and business support.

Kenya becomes the 33rd country to have such a centre, and the third in Africa, after South Africa and Morocco.
