University of Nairobi keen to host centre of excellence

Kenya’s University of Nairobi plans to partner other East African universities to bid for a World Bank-funded centre of excellence, its deputy vice-chancellor has said.

Lucy Irungu, deputy vice-chancellor for research, production and extension, made the announcement during a consultative meeting between her university and the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture on 30 March.

She said the university would respond to the World Bank’s call for proposals.
