Kenyan universities urged to get behind techno city

The developers of a technology city on the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya have called on universities to play their part in the initiative.

John Tanui, chief executive officer of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority, said that academia plays an important role in producing innovations that could be scaled-up into companies at the techno city.

He encouraged universities to build satellite campuses in Konza to house new academic and research programmes. Konza City is slated to have its own dedicated science and technology university once complete.
