Nairobi dominates Kenya-SA grant winners list

Researchers from the University of Nairobi have taken one-third of the research grants offered by a South Africa-Kenya joint research programme.

Four of the 12 winning grants are based at the Kenyan flagship university. Their Kenyan principal investigators are Agnes Muthumbi, Catherine Lukhoba, David Odongo and Peter Odero Akoun. They will carry out research project with colleagues in South Africa.

Scientists from the universities of Maseno, Maasai Mara, Kenyatta, and Strathmore fronted other winning proposals. Grants were also allocated to scientists at the Technical University Kenya, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
