The long wait for a substantive vice-chancellor of Kenyatta University could finally be coming to an end after the institution’s senate interviewed four candidates for the position on 5 December.
Among them is acting vice-chancellor Paul Wainaina, who has been in the position since 2016 when his predecessor, Olive Mugenda, left, according to a notice placed in Kenyan weekend newspapers.
Also shortlisted are Nathan Oyori Ogechi, deputy vice-chancellor of Moi University; Daniel Mugendi Njiru, acting vice-chancellor of the University of Embu; and Isaiah Omolo Ndiege, former vice-chancellor of Kyambogo University in Uganda.
