The Kenya Medical Research Institute – Wellcome Trust Research Programme has become the first Wellcome Trust-funded entity to get its own domain on the open access publishing platform, Wellcome Open Research.
The gateway will allow Wellcome-supported scientists, centres and institutions to create their own dedicated space on the publishing platform and gather all research they publish on it. This will not be limited to academic papers, but can also store data sets, systematic reviews and research protocols in an easily searchable location.
“We’ve enjoyed the ability to rapidly share research findings, analysis and data through the Wellcome Open Research platform. A specific gateway to connect and recognise our work provides a sense of ownership and enhances the experience for all,” said KWTRP director Philip Bejon in a statement on 20 July.
