Livestock institute to boost African tick research

The Kenya-based International Livestock Research Institute will participate in a £940,000 (US$1.2 million) research project focusing on tick-borne diseases.

The five-year study will be funded by the UK’s Global Challenges Research Fund and led by the University of Liverpool in the UK. Liverpool’s Tick Cell Biobank houses the world’s largest collection of tick cell lines.
