Grantwinner shortlist raises hope that long-overdue funding could materialise, but national agency keeps silent on what caused delay.
Kenyan researchers are optimistic that the country’s National Research Fund will soon release its second round of research grants—two years after the proposals were submitted.
Last week the funder published a shortlist of 58 multidisciplinary research proposals submitted to the NRF at the end of 2017. Shortlisted teams are now invited to submit full proposals, but the NRF does not say when successful grants can expect to receive their money.
