Fund sets out to improve graduation rates in South Africa

The US’ Kresge Foundation has announced a US$2.9 million initiative to use data to improve graduation rates at four South African universities.

The grant was announced on 11 November.

Siyaphumelela (We Succeed) will allow the universities of Pretoria, the Free State, Witwatersrand and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University to collect, analyse, share and use data to tackle the high dropouts rates, especially among black students.
