Fogarty awards $10m for HIV research training in Africa

The Fogarty International Center of the United States' National Institutes of Health has announced US$10 million funding for HIV research training involving partners in eight African countries.

Fogarty awarded 15 grants on 30 June, 11 of which involve African partners. It also awarded US$3m worth of grants to training projects not involving African partners.

One five-year grant for cardiometabolic research training will be led by a non-governmental organisation in Rwanda, the Regional Alliance for Sustainable Development.
