A group of international funders announced eight African research projects on 24 May that will address the crisis of youth unemployment on the continent.
The funding programme—Boosting Decent Employment for Africa’s Youth—is a collaboration between Canada’s International Development Research Centre, the Dutch Knowledge Platform on Inclusive Development, and the International Labour Organization.
Each project stands to receive up to CA$500,000 over two years. However, the selected projects have one more hurdle to overcome: They must meet the IDRC’s administrative requirements before final funding approval.
