Germany will fund five research chairs at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences as part of an ongoing collaboration.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and AIMS signed the agreement in Accra, Ghana, on 31 July.
Two of the research chairs will be based at AIMS’ Rwanda headquarters, and one each in Ghana and Cameroon. The final chair will be based at a new, and as yet unnamed, AIMS centre. The positions will be linked to at least one university in each country.
