Algeria chooses independent structure for Pan African University

The Algerian government has opted to set up an autonomous campus for the northern wing of the Pan African University (PAU), despite bids from 11 local universities to host the graduate teaching institution.

“We decided that the institution will not be included in a university but will be independent,” said Sellami Mokhtar, from the Algerian ministry of higher education and scientific research.
