American University of Cairo “revolution” ends

A week-long strike against budget secrecy, low salaries and tuition fee increases has ended at Egypt’s highly-rated American University in Cairo (AUC).

Richard Tutwiler, chair of the university senate, research professor, and director of the Desert Development Center, said that in his 11 years at AUC, he had never seen such sustained protests.
