Algeria is to set up its first national science and technology council, as part of constitutional reforms.
The creation of the National Council of Scientific Research and Technology is part of changes to the national constitution approved by ministers on 11 January.
Tahar Hadjar, Algeria’s higher education and science minister, said the council represented a milestone for the country.
