The first cohort of students from the Pan-African University graduated at its Kenyan campus on 24 November.
Fifty-four graduated with masters and PhDs in molecular biology and biotechnology, mathematics, civil engineering and construction management from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
The PAU is an initiative of the African Union, which piggy-backed on existing infrastructure to create five campuses in Africa’s five regions to offer masters and PhD studies. Campuses have been established in Algeria, Cameroon, Kenya and Nigeria.
