Seven African projects have been awarded grants from an international consortium of funders to boost the number of female health researchers on the continent.

Funding for the projects comes from the TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, sponsored by UN agencies, the World Health Organization and the World Bank.

The projects are in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Future grants will offer the same opportunity to researchers in other parts of the world.
