Pan-African climate science initiative launched

An initiative promoting collaborative African research in climate science was launched in Cape Verde last month.

Climate Research for Development (CR4D) was launched at the third session of the African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology on 23 February.

Its research projects will involve scientists from different African countries and will generate evidence needed to help governments tackle climate change.
