Science ministers from nine African countries participating in the Square Kilometre Array will meet in Pretoria, South Africa, for their ministerial conference on 25 March.
Senior officials from science ministries in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia will meet earlier, on 23 and 24 March, says Lunga Ngqengelele from the South Africa’s Department of Science and Technology.
An SKA fund to train scientists and research radio astronomy on the continent is one of the issues topping the agenda for the event, which will be held at the Sheraton hotel.
