Africa urged to consider weakening consent rules in health crises

Simpler language and local terms would also help, say researchers

Researchers have outlined a framework for informed consent in genomic research which they say is specifically designed for African realities.

Their paper appeared in the November edition of Nature Genetics, written by geneticists from Cameroon, Guinea, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
