Africa’s contingent grows by eight universities in expanded Times Higher Education university rankings.

African universities performed well in the 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings released on 11 September, with more universities in the list than before and higher positions for recurring ones.

A total of 56 African universities appear on the ranking, up from 48 in 2019. However, the ranking has ballooned over recent years. It now includes 1,400 universities, up from 1,250 last year.
