Space sector to help SA government against coronavirus
The South African National Space Agency has vowed to “align” the local space sector with the work to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. SANSA said in a 7 April statement that space-related data from its researchers and from its private sector partners will be provided for the Covid-19 response. The data will include vehicle movement analysis, human settlement density maps, and monitoring climate change during the lockdown. SANSA said it is also working on a call for proposals for space-based solutions to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
