Two-thirds of high-impact geoscience papers focusing on Africa have no authors from the continent

Geoscience papers about Africa are authored by non-residents to a much greater extent than research covering other parts of the world, according to a bibliographic study published last week. 

The paper, published in Earth-Science Reviews on 26 June by three South Africa-based authors, reviews the representation and contribution of African authors in high-impact geoscience journals.
