Pressure mounts on Africa’s latecomers to join bioweapons convention

      

Remaining countries encouraged to sign up to disarmament treaty

The handful of African nations that have still not signed up to the Biological Weapons Convention have been urged to get on board. 

The convention, which recently celebrated its 46th anniversary, bans the development, production, acquisition, transfer, stockpiling and use of biological and toxin weapons.
