George Warimwe wins £15,000 for work on zoonoses and capacity building

George Warimwe, a Kenyan expert on viral infections transmitted between humans and animals affiliated with Oxford University in the United Kingdom, has won Britain’s 2021 Royal Society Africa Award.

Warimwe was awarded the prize, which recognises African scientists, “for his work on zoonoses vaccine development, capacity building in Africa, and his innovative research proposal”, the Royal Society said in a statement on 24 August.
