Review reveals research gaps on ageing in Africa

HIV and South Africa overrepresented in studies of continent’s elderly

The vast majority of research into aging in Africa is focused on South Africa and on a small group of diseases, a study has found.

The study, published late last month by researchers from the Emerging Researchers and Professionals in Ageing-African Network in the Journal of Global Health, surveyed peer-reviewed research articles conducted with or for older adults in sub-Saharan Africa.
