East Africa to launch regional digital skills alliance next year

Initiative will draw on “collective strengths” to bolster new technologies and promote ownership

East African countries are planning to launch a regional alliance in 2025 to promote digital skills and artificial intelligence research and innovation.

The initiative was discussed during a workshop on 12 August, held in Arusha, Tanzania, that brought together representatives from academia, the private sector, civil society and East African states.
