Project assesses the cost of climate change

Three African institutions are jointly assessing the impact of climate changes on the continent’s economic growth, the African Climate Policy Centre announced on 12 November.

The Ethiopia-based ACPC, the United Nations Environment Programme and the Tunisia-based African Development Bank will measure the impact of climate change on countries’ gross domestic product.

ACPC coordinator Fatima Denton said the partners will collate and analyse data they individually produced in previous studies to assess the impact.
