International funders have announced a CA$600,000 (US$450,000) training and research programme into renewable energy in Senegal.
The programme, announced on 11 February, is a collaboration between Canada’s International Development Research Centre and Meridiam, a France-based investment company.
The École Supérieure Polytechnique de Dakar will lead the programme, which aims to train 200 Senegalese workers in the electricity sector, provide support to renewable energy companies, and conduct a regional research project.
