Ramaphosa: China is a ‘vast, untapped’ technology partner

South African president invites collaborations in innovation, technology transfer and skills development on state visit

South African president Cyril Ramaphosa emphasised the “untapped potential” in technology partnerships with China, on the eve of a summit with the country this week.

China is South Africa’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade having grown by a third since 2019, Ramaphosa told a gathering of Chinese and South African business leaders on 4 September.
