Southern African MPs are aware of the effects of climate change but are less knowledgeable about how to respond effectively to the issues, according to a briefing paper by the International Institute for Environment and Development, an independent UK-based research organisation.
The paper on the role of southern Africa parliamentarians in building climate change resilience was issued ahead of the opening of a round of international climate change negotiations in Durban, South Africa, on 28 November.
