Physicist Ahmed Bawa is to be the next chairman of the board of Higher Education South Africa, which represents the country’s 23 tertiary education institutions.
Bawa, the vice-chancellor of Durban University of Technology, will take over from Ihron Rensburg, vice-principal at the University of Johannesburg, on 1 January 2012.
