Africa hosts SpaceOps conference for the first time

Next year South Africa will become the first African country to host a long-running space-related conference. The 2020 International Conference on Space Operations, or SpaceOps, will he held in Cape Town in May.

“The conference will see delegates from international space agencies gather on the African soil in Cape Town for the very first time in history to engage on all aspects of space mission operations, from technologist to academia,” said Raoul Hodges, the managing director of space operations at the South African National Space Agency, in a statement.

The conference has been held every two years since 1990, in Europe, North America and South Korea.
