More than 70% of businesses ‘innovation active’ but only 2% receive government backing
South African businesses are innovating but face financial constraints and are unaware of support mechanisms available to them, a Human Sciences Research Council report has found.
The report released by higher education, science, and technology minister Blade Nzimande on 8 July was based on surveys and statistics collected from more than 4,000 businesses between 2014 and 2016.
