Funding crisis hearing and research briefing postponed

MPs have criticised South Africa’s higher education ministry after both the minister and his deputy left a Parliamentary committee hearing before it ended. 

The meeting of Parliament’s portfolio committee on higher education, science and technology on 17 March focused on protests that rocked campuses nationwide this week with students demanding to register for the new academic year without clearing their historic debt.
