Academy booklet provides ‘essential facts’ on Covid-19

The Academy of Science of South Africa has published a booklet on Covid-19 that it hopes will educate citizens on the virus and combat vaccine hesitancy.

“There are many who are hesitant to be vaccinated, and this is a major impediment to slowing down and stopping the disease,” the academy warned in a statement. The problem has arisen even though available vaccines are more effective than initially hoped, it said.
