The South African National Space Agency has appointed Humbulani Mudau, an expert in remote sensing with a strong policy background, as its new chief executive officer.

Mudau’s term in office will start on 1 April, Sansa said in a statement on 29 March. He takes over from Andiswa Mlisa, Sansa’s former head of earth observations, who has served as its acting head since the resignation of the last substantive CEO, Valanathan Munsami, in February 2022.
