The director general of the Nigeria-based International Institute of Tropical Agriculture has called for an integrated agricultural research system on the continent.
Nteranya Sanginga made the call at a workshop organised by the CGIAR Integrated Systems on Humid Tropics programme held in partnership with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa on the 17 November in Ibadan.
Sanginga said an integrated research approach would identify and test solutions to challenges encountered by farmers and disseminate the best solutions to them.
