Senegal helps The Gambia fight crime using science

The government of The Gambia has enlisted the help of a molecular medicine centre in neighbouring Senegal to establish a US$48 million forensic science centre.

Mai Ahmad Fatty, Gambian minister of the interior, signed a memorandum of understanding with the director of the Dakar-based Centre for Diagnostics and Research in Molecular Medicine on 19 July. Senegal entirely surrounds The Gambia.
