In depth: Scholars from across the Pacific region have backed proposals for a Pacific-wide academy of science. The new body should be similar to the Australian Academy of Science or New Zealand’s Royal Society Te Aparangi, said a communique released following a two-day meeting of regional academics and researchers in Samoa.
