An online guide for local sports managers to encourage more Malaysian women to participate in sports and physical exercise has been developed by Victoria University in Melbourne.
Sports psychologist Tony Morris and sports business adviser Clare Hanlon worked with University of Malaya sports lecturers Selina Khoo and Joelyn Lee to develop strategies designed to attract women to participate in sports and regular fitness activities.
They involved more than 100 women in Victoria and Malaysia in six activity programmes that included rowing, softball, yoga, aerobics, futsal (indoor soccer), tai chi and gym workouts.
