Rugby club helps set up PNG graduate group

James Cook University in northern Queensland has launched an alumni network for graduates with links to Papua New Guinea.

JCU alumni and community development officer, Damien Watson, estimates that around 600 graduates were born in PNG or currently live and work there.

The university recruits students from PNG through scholarships offered by the Australian Agency for International Development and JCU staff frequently travel there for field work placements and research projects.
