Tim Flannery takes Estimates heat over absence

The chief commissioner of the national Climate Commission, Tim Flannery, is scheduled to brief members of the Senate environment committee in June on developments in climate change research.

Let’s just say it’s likely to be quite a challenge for the committee’s chairman, New South Wales Labor Senator Doug Cameron, to keep order—and the steely Scot is a former national trade union secretary, used to the odd rowdy meeting.

Who’s on that committee? The list includes Eric Abetz, Cory Bernardi and Barnaby Joyce, some of the most vocal climate change sceptics in the Senate.
