Turnbull launches biomedical research grants

The federal government has announced a $250-million fund to support the commercialisation of biomedical research in Australia

Announcing details of the initiative on 8 December, health minister Sussan Ley said that the Biomedical Translation Fund will help researchers with the “complex and often expensive” early stages of commercialisation.

“The fund is an investment in ensuring our biomedical research sector is able to translate its innovative work into better treatments, better drugs, better devices and better outcomes for Australian patients,” Ley said.
