The University of Western Sydney has announced a research partnership with Australia’s top science agency to create a series of national projects focusing on social change and sustainable development.
In a brief statement on 5 May, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and UWS said that social sciences professor Rosemary Leonard will lead the programme. Leonard is a lecturer at UWS and also a researcher with CSIRO’s Social and Behavioural Sciences Group.
She will take up an inaugural UWS and CSIRO joint chair in social capital and sustainability, and will develop and coordinate research projects for both institutions.
